Adult Summer Reading

Here's everything you need to know about Adult Summer Reading 2016!

Don't let the kids have all the fun this summer! Get your bingo card at the Circulation Desk and complete four squares in a row (must have each square stamped at the Circulation Desk) for a chance to win fabulous prizes (see below). You can join in the fun between June 16 and August 16.

Museum Passes:  Information about our museum passes, including the Worcester Art Museum, reduced admission to Lowell Spinners baseball games, and half-price passes on the Boston Harbor Islands Ferry.

eBooks and Audio Books:  You can download eBooks and audiobooks free from OverDrive.  Click to find Getting Started guides for Nook, Kindle, Android devices, all Mac devices with iOS, and devices with Windows8. A detailed guide for downloading eBooks to your Kindle is here.

Account:  You can change a number of settings in your Minuteman account, including creating a user name, changing your PIN and turning on reading history. Logging into your account also allows you to request materials, check due dates, pay fines and freeze requests. You can use Encore, the Minuteman Network catalog to find books similar to one you've read and liked. Click on a book title and scroll to the bottom of the record. You'll find a list of books and authors you might enjoy.

Databases:  Find links to Mango Languages, Consumer Reports, Ancestry.com and Freegal Music (including streaming) on our Electronic Resources page.

Library Programs:  Check the calendar or home page for a list of summer programs to attend. We'll be having programs on a wide variety of topics this summer, including  
We've started a Cookbook Club so we can talk about cookbooks, recipes and food. Watch the website for dates and cookbook titles.
Most programs will take place on Thursday evenings--please join us!

Contribute an item to our Win-Win program:
  As in past years the Randall Library is helping the Stow Food Pantry by collecting personal care items for the needy. For every item you bring in we will waive your fines (we can't forgive charges for lost or damaged items though) during "Win-Win Week". Check out our website for for dates of "Win-Win Week".

Reference Questions:  We will have different reference questions posted at the Circulation Desk over the course of the summer. We can point you to good resources for finding the answers.
